The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset, the best meduim sized club in the district, completed its second project in Honduras this week thanks to the hard work of International chair Cindy Belmonte.  Cindy has excelled in her role as international chair accomplishing a lot outside of the United Sates, this time getting together with the Rotary club Valle de Sula in Honduras.

The best medium sized club in the district got a special visit from the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD).  Captain Prater of the Wood Ranch Station (44) gave us a brief demonstration of the Jaws of life, and a quick overview of the Quint 44.

Today Lisa Derkos Proposed Karon De Silva, under unknown.  The board of Simi Sunset, the Best Medium sized club in the district, unanimously voted Karen's approval.

On September 11 Simi Sunset rotary club, along with Rotarians and Interacters from District 52 were gifted the fruits of there labor.  International Chair Cindy Belmonte worked tirelessly with the other clubs and interact clubs in the district to deliver 14 pediatric wheel chairs to Children in need  will be delivering pediatric wheelchairs to Quiché children in Guatemala.  Well Done Cindy, this is truly impressive!!!

One of our newest members, Paula Williams became our newest Paul Harris Fellow.   Congratulations Paula!!
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
Many notable figures have been named as Paul Harris Fellows, including U.S.. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, U.S.. astronaut James Lovell, UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar, and Retired Del Taco Franchisee owner Kelley Gilliland.

The Simi Valley CPC was our honored guest speakers of the week.  We would like to thank Jan Lackey (Exceutive Director) and Christine Estrada (Marketing and Outreach Director) for coming to us to teach us about the Simi Valley CPC.
