President`s Message

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Simi Sunset.  We are a vibrant award winning club that takes the “Service above Self” motto to heart.  “Simi Sunsetters” as we are known, are a very social and civic minded group. Our members are family and we love to work together building a better world.  We may work hard but Sunsetters know how to make it fun.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset begins our charity in our own community with projects like Reading by 9, or the Shoes for Little Souls community project that helps needy families buy clothes and other items to help school age children prepare for the new school year.  We also support for many other local charities such as the “Free Clinic” and the “Samaritan Center”. We love helping our own community, but Rotary is a global organization and the needs of the less fortunate doesn’t stop at our borders.  We also contribute to charities across the world like “Por Amor” in Colombia which helps children with spina bifida, and the “Alberto Chedrani School” in Honduras that educates children that can not even afford to go to public schools.  Rotary International has a goal to eradicate Polio and confine it to history like small pox, through the inoculation of the polio vaccine throughout the world. Rotary’s “Polio Plus” campaign has made polio only a memory in all but two countries.

The projects and charities that we support are made possible by the hard work of our members through events such as The Gator Run, a 5k/10k run that was started 14 years ago, Johnna’s Tea Party, and and the Simi's Endless Summer Beer Fest.

We also have many activities that promote our social and networking relationships.  These range from group organized concerts to wine and/or beer tasting excursions and even mystery trips where the destination may be unknown, but we always have a good time once we are there.

Simi Sunset is part of Rotary International.  Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world.

Rotarians live and work, adhering to high ethical standards.  Each Rotarian following the “Four Way Test”

Of the things we see, say, and do
Is it the TRUTH?
Is fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Is it beneficial to all concerned?

Come join us and see what Rotary and Simi Sunset is all about.  We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. at Wood Ranch Golf Club.  Hope to see you there.
