Tonight's speaker was Simi Valley's Interim City Manager, Brian Gabler. Brian has been with the city since 1986 and has had the position of Assistant City Manager. Recently, Simi City Council appointed him Interim City Manager since the previous Manager left for Alameda City. Tonight, Brian spoke about what businesses are coming and going in Simi Valley. He says the future holds a lot of industrial plans for the city which could bring in roughly 1800 jobs. He mentioned quite a few locations that they are looking to demolish and develop. One that piqued a lot of interest is the "Farmer's Insurance" building -- the tallest building in the city -- which has been vacant since 2010. He mentioned the possibility of the structure being demolished and replaced with shops and condos. Very interesting conversations ensued.
