Asst. Fire Chief of Ventura

Chad Cook has been with the Ventura County Fire Department for 29 years. He, like many Chief Officers, has held all ranks within the agency.  His area of responsibility includes managing personnel in the fields of telecommunications, fleet maintenance, supply, and information technology services. Chief Cook has experience in all aspects of operations. He has traveled the western states using his skills in wildland fire management practices and large scale all risk-incident management. He is a Type-1 Operations Section Chief and a member of a Federal Incident Management Team.  He takes great pride in representing the Ventura County Fire Department. Chad has a degree in Fire Science and is furthering his education in Organizational Leadership and Culture. He has attended the National Fire Academy for leadership practices and holds many professional fire service certifications.
